These tips are based off a video by Lawrence Bernstein.

Don’t bore the audience with tons of words on each PowerPoint presentation slide.

The slides are not your notes for your presentation.

Keep your slides and the presentation script separate.

Make the slides interesting.

Use no more than 10 words per slide.

Use funny graphics if possible.

Don’t use technical stuff.

Try to ammuse the audience not bore!

Use a story to make the presentation.

What you want the audience to take away from the speech.

Overall philosophy.

The story keeps you focused which you can continue to come back to.

Don’t go into too much detail.

Make sure to include pauses for them to take in the slide then talk.

Make the presentation informal, ask questions, engage the audience.

We used to get this milk delivered to our house in Dodgeville and for a time it was the best local milk source available. We where so excited when our local grocery chain, Piggly Wiggly, started to carry their mild sold in glass bottles. After a while the home delivery service was not offered and my wife and I were sad when after buying their milk for some time it started to taste really bad–we noticed the milk going sour in a matter of days. This week we learned that Blue Marble Dairy of Barneveld, an on the farm milk producer who does not pasteurize or homogenize, had shut down as a business. Too sad.
